Childhood scenes: A pigtail, a purple hairpin, popsicles and an M-16

These children go to the school at Tayasir village. They live in tent encampments of nomad shepherds in the Jordan Rift Valley (although there are no more nomadic shepherds in the valley. The army prohibits them to wander). They pass through the Tayasir checkpoint (on road 5799) every day on their way to school and on their way back home. The Tayasir checkpoint is about 37 miles (60 km) away from the Israeli border. These are photos I took today, around 1:30pm.
